Blocklandia's Rules

Keep all Content Family-Friendly

We expect you to be kind, helpful, and overall a good person. We don’t allow swearing, being mean, bullying, racism, or talking about inappropriate topics like grownup games or movies/tv.

We also don’t allow any religious or political symbolism on chat, skins, or in builds as it can be devisive, and we don’t allow recording or streaming while playing on Blocklandia without the permission of an admin.

If you’re not sure whether or not something’s allowed, follow this guideline: If you wouldn’t say it to your grandma, don’t say it here.

This goes for skins, too. If you wouldn’t show it to your grandma, don’t wear it here. Skins that are not ok are: naked skins, Herobrine, bloody or gory skins, or any that are meant to scare, troll, or gross someone out. If you’re not sure whether or not your skin is allowed, ask the staff.

Player Safety

Blocklandia cannot be responsible for content on other games, sites, or servers. We do not want young players to be redirected to potentially inappropriate, offensive, or dangerous content. To keep Blocklandia’s players safe we ask that you follow these rules.

No advertising other servers.

No recruiting for your personal server or realm. No logging in to tell people: “come to this other server or realm!” This is true for other games too like Roblox, not just Minecraft servers.

No posting links. Do not post links in chat to websites, YouTube videos, etc.

No Discord. Blocklandia does not have a Discord server. You are not allowed to invite players to a Discord server or any other form of communication outside of Blocklandia. This is for safety reasons, and doing so will result in a permanent ban.

No asking for, or giving out personal info.

You should never give your personal info to strangers online. Personal info includes (but is not limited to) things like:

  • Your real name.
  • Your age, or the year you were born.
  • Where you live (your address, city, etc)
  • The name of the school you go to.

Griefing

Destroying, breaking, changing or stealing someone that someone else built or found is called Griefing and is not allowed here. Breaking this rule shows us that you don’t want to be on our server.

It is never ok to break the blocks that someone else has put down unless they have given you specific permission. Nothing is ever “abandoned” on this server. Get permission from the owner or builder before you do anything at all to an existing build. That way, you won’t be griefing and can have fun. Remember: you must start your builds at least 50 blocks away from anyone else’s builds.

If you break a block by accident, let staff know by typing /helpme Help, I broke a block by mistake. That way we can help you fix it and you won’t get in trouble.

Griefing can be more than just breaking or adding blocks. Stealing or killing someone’s animals are also forms of griefing. Farms and crops are usually planted by someone who took the time to find, plant and grow the seeds. Never take someone’s crops without asking first! Even if you replant, you’re still griefing that person.

Just because a chest is unlocked, it doesn’t mean the items are ok to take. Taking anything from a chest without asking is stealing. However, if you find a naturally generated chest that is unlocked, then it’s okay to take those items. “Naturally generated chests” are any chests that were created by the game, and not placed by a player. These chests can be found in many different structures such as: dungeons, temples, mineshafts, villages, and more.

Animals are kept in farms so that people can harvest the goods they drop, such as eggs, wool, meat and leather. It takes a lot of work to catch an animal, tame it, and put it in a pen to take care of it. Do not open gates, or kill animals that are not out in the open. Never kill a tame cat, horse, or wolf. If you do, we’ll think that you no longer want to play on our server. Plus, it makes people really sad, and it’s not very nice.

If you are ever unsure if you can take, break, or kill something, ask a staff member. If you find a grief on your own build, use /helpme (followed by your question) to notify our staff members.

Restricted Items

The following items are banned or restricted, as they can lag the server, cause harm to other players, or be used to cause grief. Some of these items are allowed once you reach the Journeyman Rank.

TNT

TNT is restricted because it can lag the server, and can be used to grief (destroy) builds.

Exceptions:
  • Journeymen can use TNT in our Redstone, Darkness, and Nightmare worlds.
  • LAVA

Lava is restricted because it can be used to hurt players and burn blocks. Lava will still naturally spawn in the world, but you will not be able to pick it up in a bucket and transport it.

    Exceptions:
    • Journeymen can use lava in our main survival worlds.
    • Anyone can use lava in Skyworlds (e.g. skyblock, skygrid, etc) to create cobblestone generators.

    FIRE OR FLINT & STEEL

Similar to lava, fire is restricted because it can hurt players and be used to grief builds. Flint & steel is banned by extention because it’s only purpose is to make fire. Fire charges, however, are allowed because they’re used in the crafting of fireworks. You will not be able to use them to light fires though.

    Exceptions:
  • Journeymen can use fire in survival worlds.
  • Anyone can use fire in Skyworlds (e.g. skyblock, skygrid, etc) since you need it to light nether portals.
  • POTION OF INVISIBILITY

Invisibilty potions are banned because they can be used to harass/troll other players.

    SPAWN EGGS

Spawn eggs are restricted because they can lag the server if used to spawn large numbers of mobs.

    Exceptions:
  • Anyone can use spawn eggs inside claims in Imaginarium. However, the number of mobs you can spawn in an area is limited.
  • Spawn eggs are allowed in Skyworlds (e.g. Skyblock, Skygrid, etc). You can obtain them in various different ways such as rewards for completeing challenges, or as loot in chests.
  • NETHER PORTALS

Nether portals are restricted because if players were to build their own nether portals, it would generate additonal nether worlds and cause problems for the server. If you attempt to build a nether portal, it will not work.

This doesn’t mean you can’t access the nether, however! We have a nether world that is reset monthly that is accessible from our Shipyard.

    Exceptions:
  • You are allowed to build nether portals in Skyworlds (e.g. Skyblock, Skygrid, etc).
  • END PORTALS

Similar to Nether portals, end portals are also restricted. End portals will still naturally generate inside strongholds, but they will not work if you try to activate them (so don’t waste your eyes of ender!).

If you would like to visit the end, you can use the portal in shipyard.

    Exceptions:
  • You are allowed to activate the end portals found in Skyworlds (e.g. Skyblock, Skygrid, etc).
  • OVERPOWERED CREATIVE ITEMS

Items that are brought into the creative worlds from your hotbar must not be overpowered or provide an unfair advantage.

    No mods, hacks or cheats

The game is a lot less fun when people cheat. If you want to cheat, play on single player mode instead,

Do not use anything that gives you an unfair advantage on this server. This includes things such as:

    • Mods that allow you to fly.
    • Minimaps that show cave or mob locations.
    • X-Ray mods or X-Ray resource packs
    • Taking advantage of game glitches.
    • Using F3 to find trial chambers or other structures.

Allowed mods include texture packs and visual game improvement mods, mods that decrease your lag like Sodium, schematic mods like Litematica (no autoplacing allowed) provided you do not use aspects of these mods that give you an unfair advantage.

If you’re not sure if something is allowed, please ask.

    Chat Rules

What’s chat? Chat is how you talk to other players on Blocklandia while you’re playing. To open chat, type t and then type what you want to say. There are rules for chatting on Blocklandia:

    Chat Etiquette

Be polite and respectful. This means talking to others the way you would want to be talked to.

No Spamming. Spam includes (but isn’t limited to):
    • Typing the same letter over and over (hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii)
    • Typing the same word on line after line after line of chat
    • Typing gibberish or nonsense (asdlj;lkjweroiuasdl;fjasd;lfkjasdf;lakjsdf;l afasdf)
    • Letting us know you’re asleep with zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
    • Asking the same question over and over
No Shouting. Shouting includes (but isn’t limited to):
    • TALKING IN ALL CAPS. Using CAPS by accident is okay on our server but if you do it repeatedly it becomes shouting and is not okay.
    • Using lots of exclamation points (Stop!!! Leave!!! Get out!!!)

    CHAT TIP:

    “Everyone is ignoring me!!”

Chat moves fast and people may miss what you say. If you say something and no one responds, don’t shout or quit. Just be polite and say things people are more likely to respond to such as “Would you like to mine with me” instead of “no one likes me!” or “I have no friends *cries*” or “I’m leaving forever!” We can’t help you if you leave.
